Do you remember running out to the music store to buy an
album that you couldn’t wait to listen to? You would run home put it in your cd
player and read the album’s cover from the beginning to end. So I have touched
a little on Mp3 in my previous post. What bums me out about cd slowly
disappearing is that the covers will also be gone. To me these covers where a
way for artist to express themselves in other ways of art. So am I the only one
that feels sad about loosing that part in the music world? Really is there a
way of saving this aspect of the album? Yes there is Facebook and personal
websites they can use to expose their other side, but is it really the same?
Hi Sarah,
ReplyDeleteI definitely see where your coming from on this one. The album cover was what made an artist in the years before now, and it seems they've practically disappeared. But, let me brighten the mood a bit. I have bought quite a few new albums lately on iTunes, one being the Dirty Heads-Cabin by the Sea, that offer many different neat features. At the beginning is has a few different album cover shots, discography, shots where they recorded the album, and more. There is even two videos at the end, one is a music video and the other an interview with them about the album. Besides that a lot of art is being expressed through tour posters and such. In this sense I think it also offers a more personal touch to the fan because it makes you feel like you are getting to know the artist too. So don't get too sad Sarah, things are looking up for albums. Great post!
